The 10 That Didn’t Quite Make My Best-Dressed List:

Not as drool-worthy as my first 10 but pretty dresses, nonetheless.

1. Socialite and fashionista Nicole Richie arrived in a sparkly metallic body-hugging Julien Macdonald gown. The V-shaped detail accentuated her hour-glass figure and for a petite young lady to wear something heavy, she nailed it.

2. Model and Project Runway host Heidi Klum wore a nude, neatly-tailored Calvin Klein dress paired with a turquoise Lorraine Schwartz necklace. It could have been perfection but the dress failed to show off her waist. But then again, she’s Heidi Klum! She would look absolutely stunning in anything!

3. Another ‘could-have-been-amazing dress’ was worn by another girl crush of mine, Naya Rivera. She donned a silky gray Vera Wang number that did not do her body justice. It could have been a killer dress if it was tailored to fit her and was neatly pressed before she wore it! The line down the middle was a bit off too. Admit it, she still looked AMAZING despite the boo-boos of her dress. I love how the red lips pop in contrast with the gray gown.

4. Elle Macpherson arrived at the Golden Globes in a blush Zac Posen strapless mermaid-tail gown. I saw a lot of nudes and blush on the red carpet and a lot of mermaid-tails too. A lot of people like this dress but it is a lot of frou for my taste and I have never been a fan of the winged bustier. She looks lovely, still.

5. Claire Danes, who was awarded Best Actress for her performance in Homeland, also won the hearts of fashionistas around the (golden) globe in her black and white J Mendel gown. Classy and conservative in front, the dress took us by surprise when she turned and revealed her sexy back adorned with sparkly jewels. It was a gown fit for a Best Actress.

6. Nicole Kidman is one of those highly-anticipated stars to grace the red carpet. Although she looked ravishing in a form-fitting bone-colored studded Versace long gown, we have seen more stunning red carpet looks from her. I will never forget Nicole Kidman in her red Balenciaga dress during the 2007 Oscars looking like a courtesan who probably goes by the name Satine. 7. Lea Michele looked like a diva in a metallic cut-out Marchesa number. I am not as wild about this though as with Dianna Agron’s swan cut-out Giles dress.

8. Emma Stone showed up at the Golden Globes wearing a wine-colored Lanvin dress. It was light and sheer, very feminine with fuchsia panels at the sides. The shoulder details and the eagle belt gave it an edgy vibe that is perfect for Emma Stone.

9. Evan Rachel Wood in an emerald-green and black Gucci Premiere gown. I am still undecided with this one. I applaud her for being so daring and edgy. I want to like it but it looks like a scaly reptile that, at any minute, could morph into a horrifying raven. It has scales, it has feathers, it is a halter, it is backless, it has a deep neckline, a mermaid tail, I could go on and on. Such is my dilemma with this gown.

10. Bérénice Bejo. I do not know her but apparently, she starred with Shannyn Sossamon and Heath Ledger in one of my favorite films, A Knight’s Tale. Oh I remember! She was the assistant and messenger of Jocelyn. Anyway, she stars in The Artist and she wore a cobalt blue Gucci gown that was very feminine and showed off her sexy collar.
